Shayma
Shangeet of Nazrul
[Nazrul made valuable and rich contribution to Shayma Sangeet, as unlike most authors/composers of Bangla language, he was thoroughly familiar with both Islamic and Hindu tradition and culture, and also he deeply cared about the harmony (or at least, non-antagonism) between Muslims and Hindus. It should be noted, however, that even though in devotional content one might not be able to guess the writer's background, Nazrul was explicit in explaining himself and his faith.
